Lowell's Restaurant

About

Seattle markets hideaway three floors of water view seating with fresh seafood daily. Lowell's Restaurant & Bar has been serving the public for close to 100 years. In the early 1900β€²s Lowell's was a combination coffee roaster, peanut roaster and cafeteria that served the citizens of the Seattle when they visited the "Public Market" to purchase fresh farm produce, seafood and dairy goods. The "flagship" Manning's Cafeteria, then became Lowell's in 1957, and has remained so ever since From the front entrance in the main arcade of Pike Place Market, it is unlikely that most visitors realize Lowell's actually has three floors of seating-all offering world class views of the Olympic Mountains, the ferries crossing Puget Sound and a seagull's view of the Port of Seattle. On the first and third floors, you order first with the cashier/barista and then find a view seat and your food will follow you shortly.

This is going to be a sentimental review that may be subjective but probably one of my favorite in the world. I dined there on the third level when I first visited Pike Place after moving to Seattle. And then it became the lunch part of my unique city walk from West Lake to Pike Place and then to Seattle Center with a stop at the Amazon Go store. I've taken almost all my loved ones to this restaurant before: they all loved it.I like eating my grilled chicken sandwich with Swiss cheese and bacon while feasting on an amazing view of the sound: ferries leaving and coming from the islands, seagulls flying around the piers filled with jovial people taking pictures, and more that I'll leave to your exploration.

It's a place like no other. To go and relax for a Hot cup of coffee and one of their afternoon desserts. After walking Seattle's most exciting, colorful place, Pike's Market. The view is a must and a place to take your afternoon inn to reminisce and get restarted for another chance to find more treasures. A place to put on your diary, only to go back and visit, just one more time ...

One of the best hash browns I've had recently. The restaurant also offers good view of the Seattle Great wheel and the lake.

Breakfast a view - and NO wait!! Self seating area above the restaurant and a walk up counter... GENIUS! Add mimosas and you have the winning ticket to breakfast lottery. :)

I heard only amazing things about his place so maybe my expectations were too high. The food is good but I did not get the wow effect I expected. Service was good as well and we were seated quickly with a nice view!

Excellent service and views combined with really delicious food makes for a hard to pass experience! If there is a wait, grab a drink hang out at the bar! Oh, make sure you pair a dip with your fries, the seasoning makes them extra dry.

Tucked back in the Pike market you will find Lowells! Make your way to the second floor for full service, or order and go on the 1st floor. Great little place for a good view and a decent bite. I ordered the tacos, they were $18, for 2 tacos, my favorite thing on the plate ended up being the Hash browns. To be clear, I would not get the tacos again, opt in for a traditional breakfast plate or pancakes. The service was great, quick and very nice! The Bloody MaryÒ€ℒs are amazing, I had 2 of the classics. (There are better places in Seattle for Breakfast, but go for the view for sure) (About $65 dollars for 2 people to eat)

In the heart of the public market. Food here is always good. We loved the sourdough breakfast sandwich and eggs Benedict. Bottomless self serve coffee and the view of Elliott Bay from here is fabulous!

Views were good.Entire parties food was cold when it arrived, order was not complete. It is a turn and burn tourist spot.

Lowell's was highly recommend by some locals as one of the handful of places worth battling the crowds of Pike Market to eat at. I have to say, they weren't wrong. The view from 2nd and 3rd floors were great, but the food was even better. On my first visit I had the buttermilk pancakes with fresh strawberries - probably some of the freshest strawberries I've ever had. My second visit I had the sourdough breakfast sandwich with sausage which was also good, but not as good as the pancakes.

As tourists, we cane here in our last night to get some fish & chips. The waiter was fabulous when we asked if we could move to a window seat. He cleaned one off super quick for us and helped us move over. The view, service & food was great.

Simple, delicious food located in such a fun place. Can have some nice views of the water depending on where you sit, and the experience can be more or less formal depending on what level you sit. Yes, it's probably a "tourist trap," but it doesn't gouge too bad and the food is good!

Views 11/10Went for breakfast, and had a good one. A bit on the expensive side, but the views of Puget Sound are absolutely worth it. The breakfast menu is fairly typical, though it has an emphasis on seafood, and the Benedict I had was well executed: crispy hash browns, tasty hollandaise, perfectly cooked eggs, and some tasty salmon. The service was fine, the seating a bit cramped (not surprising, considering the location), and the coffee acceptable.I'm a bit surprised it's taken this long for me to try it. It's worth hitting up if you're in the market and want to sit down to eat, but there are plenty of places nearby that are more exceptional.

Honestly, it was what we were looking for tonight. No wait at 5:30. And after eating healthy all of January, I just wanted confirm food. A reuben is just that for me. And it was perfect. My wife had the shrimp and chips. I don't know what nuclear plant emptied into the water where they caught those shrimp, but they were huge. All in all, it was a great meal. Oh, and the view is amazing.

Best breakfast IÒ€ℒve had in years! Wife and I got the Salmon Scramble and the Dungeness Crab omelet. Wow! We split both, so good! Definitely get the cream cheese and capers with the scramble. Sourdough toast! Oh yeah!

Cozy and calm, perfect for breakfast. The view from the windows (waterfront) is inspiring and invites you to stay longer. Chairs are comfortable and staff is professional and kind, service is fast. General atmosphere is original and pleasant. Benedict's are good and you get unlimited coffee. Prices are reasonable.

Went up to the bar. Bartender was on point. Had the crab cocktail, it was good. Wanted to order the tacos, but was full from the cocktail. Man next to me ordered the tacos and said they were great. View of the sound is awesome. Atmosphere is cool.

Friendly staff and great food! And I found my favourite drink, Lemon Maid! We do not have this here, and this is the drink I always imagined to have. Amazing. Also, their pancakes . . . seriously . . . have a go, don't look at the calories for that day, haha. And if you happen to get a seat on 1st floor, use it, the view is worth it and is just amazing. I loved this place. I will come back if I am back to Seattle.

Service was good people were very good ! It's got multiple levels of restaurant/store so really fun to explore even. I wouldn't say my breakfast was the best I've had and would be the only reason I didn't give a 5. But I am sure I'd visit again!

The counter was nice when we ordered. Then we found out the later guests had been served ahead of us. Since 30 minutes passed by, the waiter had no intention to figure it out that we are the only group hadnÒ€ℒt gotten food in that area. I had to go downstairs to ask for the order. I had no problem with food but the service should be better.

Great cocktails...and amazing clam chowder. Thick and rich and full of flavor and loads of clams. Good service. Certainly worth a stop while at the market.

This place has the best hash browns I've ever eaten, no exaggeration. Someone here has mastered the art of charring the hash browns just right in giant, delectable portions. If you're just here for said hash browns, you could make this a part of your life story too for a cool $9.Okay okay, actual review. Place overlooks the harbor (kinda). Empty at 7-9am (also time for the breakfast menu). Staff is super friendly, orders are promptly served. Wonderful. If you want their famous crab omelet, it'll set you back $26 though. Strong crab taste, but whoever wrote that review was clearly seafood biased (heh), as you want the hash browns. Orange juice was also super sour and paired excellently, but you get a small 6 or 8 oz container for $3.50. Oh, and don't go for the wheat (they overcook it), go for the sourdough bread, it's also amazing.

The food was incredible!! My mom and I split the crab cakes and the grilled crab and cheese sandwich. All I can say is YUMMY, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. We sat in the upstairs seating area and had a great view of the sound and the Great Wheel. A perfect place for a quick bite to eat with some friends. The entrance is a little unassuming...to be honest I've walked by it for 20 years and never bothered going in. Big mistake, HUGE. If you are like me, and have walked past this restaurant in the middle of Pike's Place, do yourself a favor and drop in.

"Famous" Fish and Chips was terrible. Bread crumb fried and it just wasn't favorable. Guess I should have read it more closely because it did say hand-breaded and we prefer battered fried fish. It tasted similar to frozen fillets and for $18, I expected more.Burger wasn't too bad. Cheese from Beecher's and (added) bacon on a nice ciabatta bun. But burger Patty itself was a bit too processed (compacted) which makes it dry.Staff was really nice. But $38 for these two meals is ridiculously expensive; even for a restaurant at Pike' Public Market.

The restaurant is not spacious but it has a great location and a beautiful view. The fish and chips were great. The waiter was really nice. I would strongly recommend it to anyone planning to visit Seattle.

1. Without knowing we sat ourselves to the window table. After being warned by the waiter, we apologized asked them if we should correct our mistake. They said theyÒ€ℒll let it SLIDE this time. ...very moved by their profound kindness.2. ****ALL their spoons were DIRTY! Residues from clam chowders and others still stuck on spoons?! Other customers noticed the same except the fine people working. 3. Clam chowders and others were good. However, not returning to that restaurant. There are others that welcomes my business with tiny bit more courtesy and kindness.

The menu was pretty simple we decided on a entree and it came with an appetizer of your choice.I choice the skinny lolita that was a grilled chicken breast, veggies and I paired it with there kale ceasar salad $22.Birthday girl ordered the churrasco with homemade mashed potato paired with there antipasto dish $33.The service was pretty good and the prices were not bad. Inside they have a cute little bar with cool art work all around. Would definitely come back to check out the bar and order some appetizers. The vibe is very grown and sexy and family oriented. Parking is located across the street for $10.
